As well the Aborigines of Australia have their version of a creation that is kept within the sacred belief of the Dreaming. The Dreaming is also referred to as Dreamtime and/or Dreamtimes. The belief behind the Dreaming is that their Ancestral Beings moved across the land and created life and the significant geographical areas in Australia as well as the features of the land. In the Arrernte language, the traditional language of the Aboriginal people of Australia, there are also verneculars which provide a linguistic explanation for the natural phenomena which the Dreaming offers in the stories. The Arrernte word that is used is Tjukurrpa, this translates to mean “to see and understand the law”.
This is how the Indigenous Australians came to see themselves and their creation stories.
